Obituary for Beatrice "Bunny" Hardy

Beatrice “Bunny” Lenor Hardy, 93, of Cumberland, died Friday, June 8, 2018 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born July 7, 1924 in Salisbury, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jerry and Dorothy (Glotfelty) Beachy.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Jay Hardy; her sister, Betty Deal; and, her brother, Gerry Robert Beachy.

Bunny was a registered nurse, having worked at Memorial Hospital, the Celanese Corporation, and then retired from ABL (Hercules, Inc.) with 18 years of service.

She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church. She also belonged to McKinley Chapter #12, O.E.S.; Re Temple #118, D.O.N.; Memorial Hospital Alumni Association; and, AARP Chapter 2400.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 71 years, Charles J. Hardy; two grandsons, Nicholas Hardy and wife Ashley and Alexander Hardy and wife Jessica; and, five great grandchildren Tanner, Makenna, Abigayle, Sawyer, and Lilliana.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene Street, Cumberland, on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 PM in St. John’s Lutheran Church, with Rev. Vicki Hamel, officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in M.S.V.C. Rocky Gap.
